Anyway, michelle ong sent me her minutes for the meeting.. I don't know how to get on with it, I don't have my notes! she took them.. oh man... haiz.. nevermind, memory will help! ;P

So yeah...
okay, today, I did promise you that I'll tell you about allison and charmaine, two Foo's but not related to each other save for their surnames..

Allison, well, I met her in school, she's my classmate.. she sat in front of me in that no air-con classroom during SCL freshman orientation day-camp...
She came across to me as a really quiet person, but I was totally proved wrong when I got to know her better when the days turned to weeks, turned to months..

Coming from an all-girl school too.. we both knew how to relate to each other really well... And along with our other great friend, PS, we bonded and clicked and were best of friends soon enough..

Allison's in the NYPSO, in the band section.. she's playing the clarinet.. and she's really really good at it even though she says she's not that good.. (well, she must've set really high standards on herself)

As a christian, she's one devoted follower.. loves to dance and sing and pretty much go really crazy and wacky whenever she feels like it. She's like the live-wire of the class.. if she's not around, life would be so much more boring.. :) Glad to have her in the Sinister Trio! hahas...

Well, PS, Ally and I came up with our little group.. we call ourselves the Sinister Trio coz PS always says she's the nasty one, and I'm always giving really sacarstic and evil comments that I've become the evil one, and ally.. well, she tends to say all sorts of mean things most of the time.. hence, she became the mean one.. it's funny how our classmates would refer us to our nicknames instead of our names..

allison's called "Spongy foam" by me, "Mushroom" by tim, "fungi" by pretty much everyone else... but I really admire her temperament.. she NEVER gets angry when someone calls out "Oi!! MUSHROOM!!!" down the corridoor in school.. she'd just turn around, stomp about and then "arggggh!!!!" and we'd laugh after that.. but at the end of it, "yah? what is it?" hahas.. she is just soooooo cool!!

I could go on and on about how lively she gets.. she never stops talking sometimes.. and she loooooves to eat, and she'd always ALWAYS be there for PS and I whenever we need someone to talk to and she'd even advice us sometimes..it's fascinating to have friends like that.. it'll make you wonder if they've got their own problems?

hahas... but that is allison, she's another person living in the moment.. good on you, spongy foam!!! ;)


Hahahs.. well, now, it's Charmaine....
now, I never really got to know charmaine. Maybe it's due to the age gap, even though we're 2 years apart in age, we're 3 years off in mentality at any given time. She's like a little sister to me, and she loves calling me 'da jie'.. hahs..

how I got to know her? you know... I really don't remember exactly HOW (i mean, given my poor memory, it might be wrong), but I do know where and when.. I was a student leader in choir back then, and Charmaine's attendance was waaaay horrid. It annoyed me so much that a student like her who signed up to do something with me would just back out at last minute.. I had half the mind to kick her out of choir, but being a senior, I had to let my little ones give their reasons and if they were accepted by the teacher, I'll let them off that easily..
Her reasons were valid and Charmaine's mom constantly wrote letters of apologies over her daughter's lack of attendance due to travelling time to and fro from school.. and tuition back at home. So, I never got to know who this Charmaine Foo was till at the end of the year.

Her name always left me an impression, and everytime I looked at the attendance list, I would ask if she was present. So came the day when she was present, I don't know what exactly happened, but she showed up for choir one day, and I didn't know it at all.. After two practices since then, she came up to me when I asked around for Charmaine Foo again. When she turned up in front of me, the first thing I said was "Oh, so you're Charmaine Foo right? You ARE Charmaine Foo right? and you don't have a group to go...."
Anyway, the teacher and I agreed to place her under Mezzo or Soprano's.. well, I'm not too sure about that anymore.. it's been such a long time..

so anyway, yeah.. one time, after choir, the whole bunch of us ended up queing up to get our textbooks at the bookshop, and I began talking to her, and found out that she was a middle kid, and only daughter at home, just like me.. and we both had brothers. (both also one older, one younger) we loved swimming, i loved golf, she loved tennis, we both enjoyed eating the chicken pies they have in school and drinking milo and eating any sort of chocolates... she prefered dark chocolates while I prefered extra extra fine chocolates..

It also came to an extent that the other students in school actually mistook us for each other. She told me that it happened a couple of times to her before she found out who I was. (coincidentally, we had the same haircut back then, therefore the mix up)

Well, I shan't begin on how loaded her family is, coz then, I could never stop on that.. her home is simply gorgeous!! it's so grand and spectacular, it'll just take your breath away.. she said she'd bring me over to her home one day, but that was like 2 years ago.. hahs.. well, I shall wait and see what happens..

Anyway, how she became like a lil' sis to me.. well, it's rather interesting.. it happened before one of the choir sessions, I think.. see.. I'm really bad at remembering stuff.. >__< anyway, yeah, she ran up to me and told me "Can you be my da jie? no wait, let me correct that, I want you to be my da jie!! okay? please say okay... pleeeease?" or something to that extent.. yeah.. hahas..

I was rather taken aback actually. No one's ever been that frank to me in asking me to do things before, and being shocked, I didn't know what to say, I could merely nod my head and yeah, that's how she became my lil' sis! hahs..

I've prolly seen char through a lot of stuff that happens in school. Every recess, we would hide behind the canteen, eating our chicken pies and drinking thick, cold milo.. chewing on ice cubes that didn't melt into the drink, otherwise spitting it down the flight of stairs nearby.

We used to hold little ice-cube spitting competitions and Char would always lose as she didn't know how to spit. Rekha and I never failed to giggle at her attempts and we end up teaching her how to spit that cube of ice out. But Char, being char, she'll fool around, she'd take the ice cube and throw it down the stairs instead and do her little victory dance.. hahas!

Besides that, we'd watch the little pre-schoolers coming out from the next door church.. (they have a church-based kindergarden) Talk about school and home life, about how some teachers could be so annoying, how funny our friends could be..
Often times, I would walk up to her to find her in the midst of her depression and I would feel so helpless when she just sighs and shakes her head and refuses to speak while she sips on her cold drink slowly. "Palani again" will always be the reason why char was constantly in the dumps..

And all I could do or say was "hang in there, it's not so bad once you get used to it.." Hopefully she'll get used to palani's screaming and all...

I haven't been back to school in quite a long while, and I do miss the company of the girls behind the canteen.. cordelia, char, rekha.. the whole crazy lot of them.. recess were the only times I missed the most when thinking of secondary school.. well, besides wearing a uniform every morning, that's the second thing I missed most about.. hahs....
